The City of Rogers Learn-to-Skate group lessons focus on the benefits provided by learning through play, so your child will have fun while learning in a supportive, caring environment. Each child will receive 25 minutes of class instruction, a punch card for 10 open skate sessions, a year-round membership to USFSA Basic Skills, a skills book, and a certificate of completion. The Learn-to-Skate program is a great place to start for any aspiring hockey player or figure skater and helps encourage achievable levels of skater development.
Rogers Activity Center has a limited number of rental skates available for $2 per session, first-come, first-served. Shoe size toddler 6/7 to adult 13.
Choose your Program:
- Snowplow Sam 1-3 are intended for beginner skaters ages 3-5 who are learning the very basics of ice skating. The focus for Snowplow Sam levels are in balance, weight transfer, edges, and of course fun and games!
- Basic 1-8 are intended for recreational skaters and for skaters intending to continue into the figure skating “Freestyle” levels. Ages 6+.
- Hockey 1-4 are intended for skaters who are specifically interested in learning skating for hockey development. The focus for the program is to develop skating ability, balance, weight transfer, and posture without incorporating sticks and pucks. Ages 6+
- Adult 1-4 are intended for adult skaters, starting with the basics in level 1, and advancing through more difficult skills in level 4. This program is perfect for moms and dads who have always wanted to learn how to skate! Ages 18+
Arrive at least 15 minutes early.
Come prepared with :
* Properly fitted, sharpened skates (no double blades).
* Mittens or gloves.
* Warm, comfortable clothing
* Helmets suggested, pads are optional. |
